दुनियाभर में बाघों के संरक्षण के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाघ दिवस प्रतिवर्ष 29 जुलाई को मनाया जाता है. पिछले 150 वर्षों में इनकी आबादी में 95% की भारी कमी आई है. विश्व वन्यजीव (डब्ल्यूडब्ल्यूएफ) के अनुसार, वर्तमान में दुनिया भर के जंगलों में रहने वाले बाघों की कुल संख्या लगभग 3,900 होने का अनुमान है.
